2x+y=6 and 4x+6y=4 what is solution solution​

x= 4 and y = minus 2 it's the answer I think so

Hello,
Take the first equation.
2x+y=6
=>y=6-2x              ---1

4x+6y=4               ---2
Substitute 2 in 1:
4x+6(6-2x)=4
=> 4x+36-12x=4
=> -8x=-32
=> 8x=32
Therefore x=4.
Substitute x=4 in 1.
=>y=6-2(4)
=>y=6-8
Therefore y=-2.
Therefore the solution set i.e. (x,y) = (4,-2).
