Hi ,

2x + y = 6

y = 6 - 2x -----( 1 )

4x + 6y = 4 ---( 2 )

Put y = 6 - 2x in equation ( 2 ) ,

4x + 6 ( 6 - 2x ) = 4

4x + 36 - 12x = 4

- 8x = 4 - 36

- 8x = - 32

x = ( - 32 ) / ( - 8 )

x = 4

Put x = 4 in equation ( 1 ) , we get

y = 6 - 2( 4 )

= 6 - 8

= -2

Therefore ,

( x , y ) = ( 4 , - 2 )

I hope this helps you.
