multiplying equation (1) by 2
we get 4x+2y=14
and. 3x+2y=11
.........- ...- .....-. (by subtracting)
________
x=3
and y=1

saba659: Friend ur answer is correct but I didn't understand ur explanation please explain me one more time
siddhartharao77: Given 2x + 3y = 7

Then x = 7 - y/2 ---- (1)

Given 3x + 2y = 11

3(7 - y)/2 + 2y = 11

21 - 3y + 4y = 22

21 + y = 22

y = 1

Substitute y = 1 in (1), we get

x = 7 - 1/(2)

= 6/2

= 3

Given equation are 2x + y = 7

                                   x = 7 - y/2  ------- (1)

Given 3x + 2y = 11 ----- (2)

Substitute (1) in (2), we get

3(7 - y/2) + 2y = 11

21 - 3y + 4y = 22

21 + y = 22

y = 22 - 21

y = 1.   ------- (3)

Substitute (3) in (2), we get

3x + 2y = 11

3x + 2 = 11

3x = 11 - 2

3x = 9

x = 9/3

x = 3.

Therefore the required solutions are x = 3 and y = 1.

Hope this helps!
