2x+y=7 3x+2y=12 solve the pair of equation.

\rm\huge\blue{\underline{\underline{ Solution : }}}

Given that,

  • Solve the equations : 2x + y = 7, 3x + 2y = 12

To find,

  • Values of x & y.

Let,

The equations be

\sf\:\implies 2x + y = 7 ..... (1)

\sf\:\implies 3x + 2y = 12 ..... (2)

  • By using " Substitution Method " We can solve it.

We can write the equation (1) as,

\sf\:\implies y = 7 - 2x ..... (3)

  • Substitute the value of y in (2)

\sf\:\implies 3x + 2(7 - 2x) = 12

\sf\:\implies 3x + 14 - 4x = 12

\sf\:\implies 14 - x = 12

\sf\:\implies 14 - 12 = x

\sf\:\implies x = 2

Hence,the value of x is 2.

  • Substitute the value of x in (3).

\sf\:\implies y = 7 - 2(2)

\sf\:\implies y = 7 - 4

\sf\:\implies y = 3

Verification,

Put the values of x & y in (1) to prove LHS = RHS.

LHS = 2x + y

\sf\:\implies 2(2) + 3

\sf\:\implies 4 + 3

\sf\:\implies 7

Hence, LHS = RHS. Since, it was verified.
