2x+y=7 ...... (i)

y-3=0 .......(ii)

From (ii)

y-3=0

y=3 ...... (iii)

Substitute (iii) into (i) :

2x + 3 = 7

2x = 4

x = 2

SO the answers are :

x = 2 , y = 3
