hi..

here \: is \: your \: answer..

2x + y = 95 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: ................(1)

2x + 4y = 140 \:  \:    \: ...............(2)

Subtracting eqn (2) from (1)

2x + y = 95

2x +4y =140

___________________

-3y = -45

y = 45 / 3

y = 15

Put y = 15 in (1).

2x + y = 95

2x + 15 = 95

2x = 95 - 15

2x = 80

x = 40.

Thus ,

x = 40 \:  \:  \: \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  y = 15

hope \: it \: helped..
