"Categorizers" who are also known as mysogynists are the people who look down upon women, who are against all rights given to women or people who come under some other category such as the LGBTQ community.

In this poem the role of the categorizers was to  tell the narrator to be a girl or a wife, to be a cook or quarrel etc and opposed the fact that she can do what ever she felt like.

Just like the girl in this poem, in today's consevative society the categorizers play a role in opposing women's rights, are against feminism etc.
