here, x-2=0
x=2
p(x) = 2x²+3x²-4x+k=0
p(2)= 2(2)² +3(2)²-4(2)+k =0
8+12-8+k=0
k= -12.

AkshithaZayn: that's what I too get. but the inquirer said answer is 2
poonamyadu1: but we both get same answer i think -12 is correct.
fahad45: 2x2 + 3x2 – 4x + k is divisible by expression (x – 2). Value of
k is
(A) -20 (B) 20
(C) 0 (D) 1
AkshithaZayn: but I do it a so many times and got -12. may be the mistake in options. /shrug
poonamyadu1: -20 will also come if the polynomial must in cubic.
AkshithaZayn: Oh yea. correct the question pls (:

Hey

Here is your answer,

X-2=0
X=2

Your question might be 2x^3 +3x^2 -4x +k=0
Substitute the value of x in place of x.

2(2)^3 +3(2)^2 -4x2 +k=0
2x8 + 3x4 -8 +k=0
16+12-8+k=0
28-8+k=0
20+k=0
K=-20

Hope it helps you!

poonamyadu1: correct✌️
AkshithaZayn: yea. right one
AkshithaZayn: we didn't think about standard form
AkshithaZayn: now it's right. (:
