Solution :

*****************************************

Like terms :

Terms having the same literal

coeffients are called like terms .

******************************************

Given terms are 2x² , -3y , 6y² ,

-3x² , -4y² , 8y

i ) pair of like terms :

( 2x² , -3x² ),

( -3y , 8y ) ,

( 6y² , - 4y² )

ii ) Subtracting second term from

first in ( 2x² , -3x² ) we get

2x² - ( -3x² )

= 2x² + 3x²

= ( 2 + 3 )x²

= 5x²

iii ) Subtracting second term from

first in ( -3y , 8y ) we get

-3y - 8y

= ( -3 - 8 )y

= -11y

iv ) Subtracting second term from

first in ( 6y² , -4y² ) we get

6y² - ( -4y² )

= 6y² + 4y²

= ( 6 + 4 )y²

= 10y²
