x =  \frac{ - b± \sqrt{ {b }^{2} - 4ac } }{2a} \\ here \: a = 2 .\:  \: b = - 4. \:  \:  c = 2 \sqrt{2}  \\  =  > x =  \frac{4± \sqrt{16 - 4 \times 2 \times 2 \sqrt{2} } }{2 \times 2}   \\  =  > x =  \frac{4± 4 \sqrt{1 -  \sqrt{2} } }{4}  \\  =  > x =  1± \sqrt{1 -  \sqrt{2} } \\

As you know √2 > 1 , so the roots are imagenary.
