Solution :

2x² - 9x - 10 = 0

a = 2

b = -9

c = -10

Firstly, let's find its roots by using quadratic formula,

Roots = { - b ± √(b² - 4ac)}/2a

Roots = { - (-9) ± √(-9² - 4×2×-10)}/2 × 2

Roots = (9±√161)/4

Roots = (9 + √161)/4 and (9-√161)/4

Factors :

  • [ x - ( 9 + √161)/4 ]

  • [ x - ( 9 - √161)/4 ]

FIND Here:-

  • Factor of ( 2x²-9x-10) = 0

EXPLANATION:-

=> (2X²-9X-10) = 0

General quadratic equation

ax² + bx + c = 0

[ USING DHARACHARYA FORMULA ]

=> x = [ {-b ± √( b² - 4ac)}/2a] ......(1)

where,

  • a = 2,
  • b = -9,
  • c = -10.

Keep value in equation (1)

=> x = [{ -(-9) ± √{ (-9)² - (4 × 2 × -10) }}/(2×2) ]

=> x = [ { 9 ± √ ( 81 +80 )}/4 ]

=> x = [ { 9 ±√(161)}/4 ]

Case(1):-

  • First ,take positive sign

=>x = [ { 9 + √(161) } / 4 ]

Case(2):-

  • Second, take negative sign

=> x = [ { 9 + √(161) } / 4 ]

Factor of ( 2x² - 9x -10 = 0 ) :-

  • x - [ { 9 + √(161) } / 4 ]
  • x - [ { 9 + √(161) } / 4 ]
