If you want to say roots of the equation than
2x²-x-3=0
2x²+2x-3x-3=0
2x(x+1)-3(x+1)=0
(2x-3)(x+1)=0
either 2x-3=0 or x+1=0
x=3/2 or x= -1
2x²-x-3=0
2x²+2x-3x-3=0
2x(x+1)-3(x+1)=0
(2x-3)(x+1)=0
either 2x-3=0 or x+1=0
x=3/2 or x= -1
