2y - 4 x equal to 24 ( first equation )and Y + 3x equal to 7(second equation)

multiplying Second equation by 2 and then subtracting from first equation equal to

2y-4x=24

-2y-6x=-14

X= -1

2y-4x = 24. ——>1
y+3x = 7. ——>2

eq.2 x 2 + eq. 1,

2y + 6x = 14
- 2y - 4x = 24
- + -
———————
0 +10x = - 10

From this,
x = (- 1).

Hope this will help you.
