First we will solve the given linear equation in one variable then we will be able to check the value,

2y+\frac{5}{3} = \frac{26}{3} -y\\\\\implies 2y+y= \frac{(26-5)}{3} \\\\\implies 3y=7\\\\\implies \boxed{ y=\frac{7}{3} }

VERIFICATION

Now we will put the value of x both in Left Hand Side and Right Hand Side of the equation :-

2*\frac{7}{3}+\frac{5}{3} = \frac{26}{3} -\frac{7}{3} \\\\\implies \frac{14+5}{3} =\frac{16-7}{3} \\\\\implies \frac{19}{3} =\frac{19}{3} \\\\\implies LHS=RHS

Hence, our answer is correct as LHS=RHS
