\sf\large\underbrace[Question:-]

2y +  \frac{5}{y}  + 7 = 1

{\huge{\boxed{\mathcal{\pink{Answer \: }}}}}

2y +  \frac{5}{y}  + 7 = 1

 \frac{y.2y}{y}  +  \frac{5}{y}  +  \frac{y.7}{y}  = 1 \\

 \frac{y.2y + 5 + y.7}{y}  = 1 \\

 \frac{2yy + 5 + y.7}{y}  = 1 \\

 \frac{ {2y}^{2} + 5 + y.7 }{y}  = 1 \\

 \frac{ {2y}^{2}  + 5 + 7y}{y}  = 1 \\

 \frac{ {2y}^{2} + 7y + 5 }{y}  = 1 \\

y( \frac{ {2y}^{2}  + 7y + 5}{y} ) = y \\

 {2y}^{2}  + 7y + 5 = y

 {2y}^{2}  + 7y + 5 - y = 0

 {2y}^{2}  + 6y + 5 = 0

_____________________________________________

USING QUADRATIC FORMULA:-

y =  \frac{ - b± \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a }  \\

_____________________________________________

y =  \frac{ - 6± \sqrt{ {6}^{2} - 4.2.5 } }{2.2}  \\

y =  \frac{ - 6± \sqrt{ - 4} }{4}  \\

d =  - 4
