2y+ 7x = -5 5y – 7x = 12

multiply eq1 by 5 and eq2 by 2

10y+35x=-25

10y-14x=24

sub (2) from (1)

49x=-49

x=-1

putting the value of x in eq(1)

2y-7=-5

y=1
