Answer:-

Given:

2y - x = 2 -- equation (1)

3y - 4x = - 2 -- equation (2)

Multiply equation (1) by 4.

→ 4(2y - x = 2)

→ 8y - 4x = 8 . -- equation - (1')

Now,

Subtract equation (1') from (2).

→ 3y - 4x -(8y - 4x) = - 2 - 8

→ 3y - 4x - 8y + 4x = - 10

→ - 5y = - 10

→ y = - 10/ - 5

→ y = 2

Substitute y value in equation (1)

→ 2y - x = 2

→ 2(2) - x = 2

→ x = 4 - 2

→ x = 2
