Step-by-step explanation:

a. cost of 3.5 liters of buttermilk = 50

cost of 1 l of buttermilk = 50/3.5 = 14.28 approx

cost of 2.75 l of buttermilk = cost of 3.5 l - cost of 1 liter + cost of 0.25 l

= 50 - 14.28 + 14.28/4

= 35.72 + 3.57

= 39.29 rupees

b. 1) cost of 1 l of buttermilk = 14.28

buttermilk Radha buys = 40/14.28 = 2.80 approx

liters

2) Radha spills = 2.80 × 2/5 = 1.12

remaining buttermilk = 2.80 - 1.12 = 1.68 l

hope it will help
