(√3-1)/(√3+1) × (√3-1)/(√3-1) ; {rationalizinh the denominator}

=(√3-1)^2 / (√3)^2 -(1)^2

=4-2√3 / 2

=2 (2-√3) / 2

=( 2 -√3)

so , a= 2

b=1

Hopefully clear !
