3.1. Maria and I bought 2 graph copies and 3 pencils by
716 from a shop. Let us calculate the price of one
graph copy and one pencil.
Let the price of one graph copy be 3x and one pencil be y.
- The price of 2 graph copies is 2 x*x = 2x
& the price of 3 pencils is 3x +y = 3y
.. Total price = (2x + 3y)
1. From given condition, 2x + 3y = 16 ................. (i)
The statement that two graph copies and 3 pencils are bought at 16 is expressed by the
equation (i) and we get a linear equation of two variables.
