Let age of = x

so, age of father = 4x

now,

after 5 years,

age of son = (x + 4)

and age of father = (4x + 4)

as given,

4x+4 = (x+4)*3

4x+4 = 3x+12

4x-3x = 12-4

x=8 years = present age of son
