As per the data given in the question,

We have to determine the value of "x" in the above given expression by trial and error method.

As we know that,

In trial and error method we usually put the value of "x" and check whether it satisfy the equation or not.

And, the value of "x" for which the equation satisfies will be the answer of the equation.

So,

Putting the value of x = 1, 2, 3 and so on.

We will get,

3x = 12\\=>x = 1\\=> (3\times 1) = 3 \neq 12\\x = 2:\\(3\times 2) = 6 \neq 12\\x = 3:\\(3\times 3 ) = 9\neq 12\\x = 4\\(3\times 4) = 12 = 12

Hence, for the value of x = 4 the equation satisfies.

So, the value of "x" will be 4.
