3.142857 is a :-
(a) Integer
(b) Terminating Decimal
(c) Rational Number
(d) Irrational Number

Note:- I knew that answer is both (b) and (c). The same question was given in my maths test and my subject teacher told that the answer is only (b) and gave some useless reasons. Please help me anyone with a genuine reason along with a appropriate source so that i can tell her. And if answer is really only (b) then explain me so that I can understand. please only genuine answer.

3.142857 is a terminating decimal .Terminating decimals also comes under rational numbers as it can be written in the p/q form.so, I think it's also a rational number.
