Here 1 represents __canines__ .

This ration can be given as,

Molar : Premolars : Canines : Incisors

as per the presence of teeth this ratio will become,
12 : 8 : 4 : 8
= 3 : 2 : 1 : 2.

These canines comes after incisors and before premolars.

Their main function is of tearing food.
