Answer:

It’s amazing to see that there are so many different logics arriving at the same answer 98!

When I first saw the question, I deduced the answer by logic:

X1 + X2 = X1( X2 +k), where k is the term of A.P : 1,2,3,4,5…( or the sequence no. of question)

2+3= 2(3+1)= 8

3+7= 3(7+2)=27

4+5=4(5+3)=32

5+8=5(8+4)= 60

6+7=6(7+5)= 72

And thus:

6. 7+8=7(8+6)= 98

Ans: 98

Explanation: Thru following indirect steps

2+3=8 arrived at as 2*3 +2 = 8

Similarly 3+7=27 as 3*7 +6 = 27

and 4+5=30 from 4*5 +12 = 32

5+8=40 from 5*8 +20 = 40

6+7=72 from 6*7 +30 = 72

Notice that the numbers after the + operator are following a math progression - 2, 6, 12, 20, 30. The difference between two consecutive numbers get incremented by 2 in sequence i.e. 2, 2 +4, 6 +6, 12 +8, 20 +10 so the next number should be 30 +12 = 42. This should be the number added to 7*8 i.e. 56 +42 which is 98, the answer

To summarize it's a 3 step process..a bit convoluted, maybe, but my simplistic best guess

Convinced, are we?
