(3+2 √2)/( 2- √ 2) = a+b √ 2

LHS=(3+2 √2)( 2+ √ 2)/( 2- √ 2)( 2+√ 2)

      = (6 + 3 √2 + 4√2 + 4 ) / ( 4- 2)

      = (10 + 7√2)/2

     = 5 + 7√2/2

     = RHS  =   a+b √ 2

THEREFORE

a = 5 and b= 7/2 (answer )
