3/2x + 2/3y = -1/3                     (i)

3/4x + 1/2y = -1/8                     (ii)

Multiply equation (ii) by 2 and subtract it from equation (i)

3/2x + 2/3y = -1/3

-3/2x - 1/y = -1/4

y = 4

Putting y = 4 in eqn. (i) we get,

x = -3
