Pls explain the method as well as to why we did that

 \sqrt{3 \times 3 + 4 \times 4}  \\  \\  \sqrt{9 + 16 }  \\  \\  \sqrt{25}  \\  \\ 5

vibhwizard: if it was ( 3 + 4)² then It can be taken out but 3² + 4² cant
