..Question..

A drawing room is 7.4 m long, 5.6 m broad and 3.5 m high. There are two windows; each measuring 1.5 m by 1 m and two doors, each two windows; each measuring 1.5 m by 1 m and two doors, eachmeasuring 1.5 m by 2 m. Find the cost of white washing the wall of this room at the rate of 15 per sq m.

..Answer..

Given ,

Length of the room = 7.4 m

Breadth of the room = 5.6 m

Height of the room = 3.5 m

Dimension of window = 1.5 × 1 m

Dimension of the door = 2 × 1.5 m

☯︎ At first ,

♧︎︎︎ area of the room

2 ( lb + bh + hl )

2 [(7.4 × 5.6) + (5.6 × 3.5) + (3.5 × 7.4)]

2 ( 41.44 + 19.60 + 25.90 )

2 × 86.94

173.88

☯︎ Again ,

♧︎︎︎ area of window

l × b

1.5 × 1

1.5

Total windows = 2

= 2 × 1.5

= 3

☯︎ Again ,

♧︎︎︎ area of the door

l × b

2 × 1.5

3

Total doors = 2

= 2 × 3

= 6

☯︎ Also ,

We have to exclude the measurements of the ceiling and the floor

° Floor = l × b

7.4 × 5.6

41.44

Again ,

ceiling = l × b

7.4 × 5.6

41.44

° total area of floor and ceiling

( 41.44 + 41.44 )

82.88

♧︎︎︎ Excluding the area of floor , ceiling from the dimension of room , we get

( 173.88 - 82.88 )

91

Now ,

Cost of whitewashing per Rs 15

° cost of white" in 91 91 × 15

Rs 1365

..Question..

Find the cost of white washing the wall of this room at the rate of 15 per sq

..Answer..

Given ,

  • Measure of room :- length= 7.4m, breadth= 5.6m & height= 3.5m
  • Measure of window :- length= 1.5m, breadth= 1m
  • Measure of door :- length= 2m, breadth= 1.5m
  • Cost for white washing per m^{2}. = ₹15

To find :-

  • Lateral Surface Area of the room.
  • Area not to be painted.
  • Area to be painted.
  • Cost of white washing the walls.

Sol^{n} :-

  • Lateral Surface Area = 2 h ( l + b )

                                           = 2 × 3.5 (7.4 +5.6)

ㅤㅤㅤ                                 = 2 × 3.5 ( 13 )

                                            = 7 × 13

                                            = 91 m^{2}

  • Area not to be painted = Area of windows + Area of doors

                                               = 1.5 × 1 + 1.5 × 2

                                               = 1.5 + 3

                                               = 4.5m^{2}

  • Area to be painted = Lateral Surface Area - region not to be painted

                                        = 91 - 4.5

                                        = 86.5m^{2}

Cost of white washing the walls = area to be painted × Cost for white washing per m^{2}

                                                     = ₹1297.5

                                                                              ∴ White Washing The Walls Will Take ₹1297.5
