3. A toy is in the form of a cone of radius 3.5 cm mounted on a hemisphere of same radius
The total height of the toy is 15.5 cm. Find the total surface area of the toy.

Given:
radius of the cone = 3.5cm
total height of the toy= 15.5cm
to find:
total surface area of the toy
radius of the hemisphere =radius of the cone
= 3.5cm
height of the cone = 15.5 -3.5
=12cm
slant height of the cone =√{(3.5)}^2+{(12)}^2
= √(12.25+144)
=√156.25
slant height of the cone =12.5cm
find TSA of the toy=CSA of hemisphere + CSA of cone.
= 2πr^2+πrl
= πr(2π+l)
= 22/7×3.5×(2×3.5+12.5)cm
= 22/7×7/2×(7+12.5)cm^2
= 11×19.5 cm^2
= 214.5 cm^2
