We have to find-\frac{3}{4}+\frac{1}{2} =?

Let,

=>-\frac{3}{4} +\frac{1}{2} =x\\=>x=\frac{-(3\times2)+(4\times1)}{4\times2} \\\\=>x=\frac{-6+4}{8} \\\\=>x=-\frac{1}{4}
