1.Add: 3/4
+ 2/5
= 3 · 5/4 · 5
+ 2 · 4/5 · 4
= 15/20
+ 8/20
= 15/20 + 8/20
= 23/20

The common denominator you can calculate as the least common multiple of the both denominators - LCM(4, 5) = 20

2.Subtract: 3/4
- 2/5
= 3 · 5/4 · 5
- 2 · 4/5 · 4
= 15/20
- 8/20
= 7/20

The common denominator you can calculate as the least common multiple of the both denominators - LCM(4, 5) = 20

3.Divide: 23/20
: 7/20
= 23/20
· 20/7
= (23 · 20)/(20 · 7)
= 460/140
= 23/7

To divide one fraction by another, invert (turn upside-down) the second fraction, then multiply.
