3:4 is the same as 3x:4x where 3x is the # of boys: 4x is the # of girls

No of boys = x

No of girls = 120+x

Then,

x/120+x =3/4

x = 360

Total no of boys = 360

Total no of girls = 360+ 120

= 480

Therefore, Total no of student in school = 840
