Given : 3/4 meter long pieces need to be cut from a 5 meter 25 cm long rope.

To Find : how many pieces will be cut

Solution:

1 m = 100 cm

Length of rope = 5 m 25 cm

= 5 x 100 + 25

= 525 cm

Length of a piece = 3/4 m

= 100 x 3/4   cm

= 25 x 3

= 75 cm

Number of pieces can be cut = 525/75

= 7

7 pieces will be cut
