the first number is 20

the other number is 30

let the other number be y

∴  \frac{3x}{4} = \frac{y}{2}

= \frac{3x}{4}- \frac{y}{2} =0

\frac{3x-2y}{4}=0

3x-2y=0------→1

x+y=50---------→2

from 1 and 2,

3x-2y=0

x+ y=50

-------------

3x-2y=0

2x+2y=100            (∵multipling by 2)

5x=100

x=20

x+y=50

y=50-20=30
