3/4. of a piece of metal has a mass of 15 kg. What is the mass of of the piece of

3/4 = 15kg

which means 75% of the metal is 15kg. Now he left is 25% which is 1/4 of the metal. so to find that we can do this.

75 x x = 15

x = \frac{15}{75}

x = 1/5 or 0.2

Now lets check if we are right...

75 x 0.2 = 15

So, x=0.2

Now we can easily find the value of the remaining 25% and add it with the 75%. Lets do it.

25 x 0.2 = 5

Now we add both of them...

15 + 5 = 20Kg

Therefore, the mass of the metal is 20kg
