So as you see the number line is drawn with positive integers from 0 to +4 since we might not need that side that much and negative integers from 0 to -7.

The first integer is (-3) which is placed on the number line above and the second integer is (+4) having a minus sign outside bracket. so when it comes to this a negative (-) and a positive (+) both form a negative (-).

Anything outside bracket is multiplied by that inside bracket so that's why I want to conclude by saying

- x +4 = -4 therefore -3-4 = -7 on the number line
