EXPLANATION.

Quadratic equation.

⇒ 3x²/4 - x - 1 = 0.

As we know that,

Simplify the equation, we get.

⇒ 3x² - 4x - 4 = 0.

Factorizes the equation into middle term splits, we get.

⇒ 3x² - 6x + 2x - 4 = 0.

⇒ 3x(x - 2) + 2(x - 2) = 0.

⇒ (3x + 2)(x - 2) = 0.

⇒ x = -2/3  and  x = 2.
