Answer:

241 I guess..

Reason:

First no. is 3

2nd no. is 3×2-1=5

3rd no. is 5×3-2=13

the fourth no. is 13×4-3=49

and the last no. would be 49×5-4=241...

I hope it helps...

If it does mark me as brainliest.

241 replaces ? in 3, 5, 13, 49, ? and nth term Tₙ  = n Tₙ₋₁  - n + 1   where  n > 1  , n ∈ Z   and T₁ = 3

Given:

  • 3, 5, 13, 49, ?

To Find:

  • What comes at place of ?

Solution:

Step 1:

Understand the series

3

3 x 2 - 1 = 5

5 x 3 -2  = 13

13 x 4 - 3 = 49

Step 2:

Applying the same logic

49 x 5 - 4  = 241

Hence 241 replaces ?

Additional Info:

Define nth term

Tₙ  = Tₙ₋₁ × n  - (n - 1)

=>  Tₙ  = n Tₙ₋₁  - n + 1   where  n > 1  , n ∈ Z   and T₁ = 3
