Hey there!!

( a - b )² = a² + b² - 2ab

( 3 - √5 )² = ( 3 )² + ( √5 )² - ( 2 ) ( 3 ) (√5)

⇒ 9 + 5 - 6√5

14 - 6√5

Hi ,

*******************************************
We know the algebraic identity :

( a - b )² = a² - 2ab + b²

*******************************************

Here ,

a = 3 , b = √5 ,

Now ,

( 3 - √5 )²

= 3² - 2 × 3 × √5 + ( √5 )²

= 9 - 6√5 + 5

= 14 - 6√5

I hope this helps you
