on comparing
a = 8
b = 3

It's not possible
only Centre term is in division form
Actually the person who asked question forget to put bracket
how we can say
Because in this type of questions the whole term is in division ... I am in 11th and had solved many such questions

according to BODMAS
3+.88-2.64=a+b(2.64)
1.24=a+b(2.64)
(1.24-a)/2.64=b
3+.88-2.64=a+b(2.64)
1.24=a+b(2.64)
(1.24-a)/2.64=b
