Concept

A linear equation has one or two variables.The standard form for linear equations in two variables is Ax+By=C. For example, 8x+y=5 is a linear equation in standard form. This form is very useful for solving systems of two linear equations. No variable in a linear equation is raised to a power greater than 1.

Given

(3-7x)/(15+2x)=0

Find

Solve the linear equation

Solution

(3-7x)/(15+2x) = 0

(3-7x) = 0 * (15+2x)

Any number multiplied by 0 is 0

(3-7x) = 0

3-7x = 0

3 = 7x

x = 3/7

The value of x is 3/7  for the equation (3-7x)/(15+2x)=0.
