3. A block of mass 10 kg slides from the top to bottom on an
inclined plane of length 8m and inclination 30°. Find the
work done by the gravitational force. (g = 10 m/s2)

Mass of block = 10kg

Distance covered = 8m

Angle of inclination = 30°

We have to find work done by gravitational force .

⧪ Work done by force is measured as the dot product of force and displacement.

  • W = F d

Here, net gravitational force acts on the body is mgsinθ.

➙ W = F d

➙ W = mgd sinθ

➙ W = 10×10×8 sin30°

➙ W = 800 × 1/2

W = 400J
