Answer:

4 meter

Explanation:

u=0, a=2m/s, t=2s

S = ut + (1/2)at²

= 0 + (1/2) × 2 × 2²

= 2²

= 4m

Given :

  • Body starts from Rest so, initial velocity, u = 0
  • Acceleration of body, a = 2 m/s^2
  • Time for travelling, t = 2 sec

To find :

  • Distance covered by the body in 2 seconds, s = ?

Formula required :

  • Second equation of motion

s = u t + 1/2 a t^2

[ where s is distance covered, u is initial velocity, t is time and a is acceleration ]

Calculation :

Using second equation of motion

➥ s = u t + 1/2 a t^2

➥ s = (0) (2) + 1/2 (2) (2)^2

s = 4 m

therefore,

  • Distance covered by Body will be 4 metres.

Three equation of motion :

  • First eqaution of motion :

v = u + a t

  • Second equation of motion :

s = u t + 1/2 a t^2

  • Third eqaution of motion :

2 a s = v^2 - u^2

[ where v is final velocity, u is initial velocity, a is acceleration, t is time, s is distance covered ]
