3. A circular pit of diameter 7 m has to be dug out and the earth to be removed. Find the
depth of the pit if the volume of the earth removed is equal to 539 m^3.

Answer:

volume of a circle = pi r 2h

diameter =7m r= 3.5

therefore 539m=22/7×3.5×2×h

=22×0.5×2×h

539 =22×h

h= 539÷22

therefore h=24.5m
