Answer :-

Volume = 301.44m

Curved surface area = 188.4m^2

Explanation :-

Given :

Diameter (d) = 12m

Height (h) = 8m

To Find :

Volume = ?

How much canvas is required to cover the heap = ?

Solution :

Radius (r) = 12/2m

∴ 6m

Volume of a cone,

\boxed{\sf{}\dfrac{1}{3}\pi r^2h}

Put their values and solve it

:\implies \sf{}\dfrac{1}{3}\times 3.14\times 6\times 6\times 8

:\implies\sf{}\dfrac{1}{3}\times 904.32

\therefore\sf{} 301.44m^2

Therefore, volume is equal to 301.44m^2.

Canvas require to cover the heap is equal to the curved surface area of heap which is in cone shape.

Curved surface surface area of the cone,

\boxed{\sf{}\pi rl}

We do’t know the value of “l” which is the slant height, so let’s find it first.

\sf{}l^2=r^2+h^2

\sf{}:\implies l^2=6^2+8^2

\sf{}:\implies l^2=36+64

\sf{}:\implies l^2=100

\sf{}\therefore l=10m

So,curved surface area:

:\implies \sf{}3.14\times 6\times 10

\therefore \sf{}188.4m^2

Therefore,188.4m^2 cloth is required to cover the heap
