What is a port??

A port is generally an interface between the computer and the other devices like computer peripherals and other devices.  There are many types of ports and they can be various types like USB 2.0 , USB 3.0 , HDMI, DVI, serial port, parallel port , etc. The USB connection can provide a better internet speed by ethernet whereas the wifi provides comparitively lesser speed than the ethernet. Even connecting to Audio like headphones, speaker, and video like monitor, webcam requires a port to be connected
