3. A particles if travelling in a circle of diameter
15m Calculate the distance covered and
displacement when it completes two round
Answers
Given :
• Diameter of the circle = 15 m
To Find :
• Distance Covered
• Displacement Covered
Solution :
Firstly, Let's find Total Distance covered by the particle.
Given diameter = 15 m
We know that :
[ Distance Covered in one round = Circumference of the circle ]
Distance covered in 2 rounds :
Total Distance covered by the particle is 94.28 m
Now, Let's find the Displacement :
We know that Displacement is the shortest distance between two points i.e. refrence point and destination with respect to time
Now,If the particle started from a point say A after completion of 1 round it'll be again at the point A and also after completing 2 rounds it'll be again at A
Total Displacement covered by the particle is 0 m
QUESTION :
3. A particles if travelling in a circle of diameter 15m.
Calculate the distance covered and displacement when it completes two rounds .
SOLUTION :
The following information is given -
Diameter of Circle = 15 m.
=> Radius of circle = 15 / 2 m = 7.5 m.
It covers two rounds .
Now we have to calculate distance and displacement of the above particle .
We know that :
Displacement is the shortest path between any two points .
When the particle covers two rounds and returns to the innitial point, it's displacement is 0.
Distance refers to the total path travelled by the particle.
The total path is equal to twice the circumference of the circular track .
So,
Circumference = π d
2 × Circumference = 2 π d = 2 × 3.14 × 15 cm = 31.4 cm × 3 = 94.2 cm .
So the distance travelled by the particle is 94. 2 cm approximately.
