A. Legth of the rope = 35cm 9mm

1cm = 10mm

So,

35cm 9mm = (35 x 10)mm + 9 mm

=> 359mm

Length of rope he cuts off = 2cm 1mm

=> (2 x 10)mm + 1mm

=> 21mm

Length of rope left with him :

=> 359 mm - 21 mm

=> 338 mm

1 mm = 1/10 cm

338 mm = 338/10 = 33.8 cm or 33 cm 8 mm

Answer - 33 cm 8 mm

B. Length of cloth Vinay used = 4.34 m

Length of cloth Sumita used = 24 m

Total cloth used = 24m + 4.34m

=> 28.34 m cloth

No cloth was left as less amount of cloth was bought.
