3. A rectangular lawn 115 m long and 64 m broad has two cross-paths at right-angles, one 2 m wide,
running parallel to its length and the other 2.5 m wide, running parallel to its breadth. Find the
cost of gravelling the paths at 114 per m2.​

Answer:

The Length of Road ║ length is 115m and width 2m

So, Area of Road ║ Length =115*2=230m²

The Length of Road ║  Breath is 64m and width 2.5m

So the Area of Road ║ to breath =64*2.5=160m²

But as you can observe the area common to both roads is Taken Twice

So The area of Common Road = 2*2.5=5m²

So the Area of Road that need Gravelling =230+160-5=385m²

The Price for Gravelling =385 * 60 = 23100 rupees
